NOTICES

We hope that you all enjoyed your Spring Break Vacation. We know we did. :)
Just a couple of reminders to look for in the next few Newsletters.

1.) Mid-term Evaluations are the week of April 12th. Teachers will be sending them home with the students or emailing them to you.

2.) The Mother's Day Recital is coming up on May 7th, sign up soon before it fills up!

3.) MAY 10th, FALL SEMESTER 2010 PRE-REGISTRATION STARTS!
This is a first come first serve process to reserve your times, days and teachers for Fall Semester. There is a $50 deposit which will be applied toward your tuition in the Fall, to reserve these times. They are not guaranteed, but we will work with your requests as much as we can. Forte will open at Noon that day.

4.) HONORS RECITAL AUDITIONS - SATURDAY MAY 22nd - 2:00pm
Each year at the end of Spring Semester we have our annual Forte Music School Faculty and Student Honors Recital. Unlike our standard recitals, this one is auditioned and we select the top 15 students in 3 age categories. If you have a fun and exciting piece that you want to show off, there's no harm in giving the audition a try! However, NOW is the best time to discuss this with your teacher. That way you have plenty of time to perfect your piece. The Honors Recital is on Saturday June 5th at 6:00pm. It will be held at Oak Hills Church (you can find a map on our website). Talk to your teacher now to help you get prepared for the audition.

WESTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS:
"Much Ado About Nothing"

April 29th & 30th, May 1st @ 7:30 PM, 2010

William Shakespeare’s classic tale of love and jealousy springs to life in Westview’s colorful production. Young lovers Hero and Claudio are a week from marriage and decide to pass the time conspiring to set a “lover’s trap” for arrogant confirmed bachelor Benedick, and the headstrong Beatrice, his favorite sparring partner. Meanwhile, the evil Don Jon conspires to break up the wedding by accusing Hero of infidelity. In the end, though, it all turns out to be “much ado about nothing.” Set in Sicily, Westview’s production promises to be both visually stunning and vocally enchanting as we feature the design work of our top student designers, as well as the acting talents of our up and coming performers.

MMX Westview Theatre - 4200 NW 185th Ave, Portland, OR 97229 - 503.259.5225

ARTWORK ON THE STUDENT BLOG

Our music computer lab has many fun and informative music games for our students to use before or after their lesson. However, occasionally, some of them move through all of the games and/or just want a bit of a break from them. So instead, we've found, that a number of our students are drawing amazing works of art in the paint program. There were so many great ones, that we thought it would be fun to share them with you. So we've posted them on our student blog. CLICK HERE to see them for yourself. You might even see your OWN work of art up there.
